New direction for this site

I’ve been noodling with a post about me being extremely sick for a good month now. I am in a CRR and one of the staff members and I were talking about me feeling lost not having a job in tech to wake up to and define me and the sense of self missing that has led me to feel I have nothing to live for and nothing to lose.

Note

For this blog and my upcoming podcast with my long time friend Matt, I will refer to the main staff members I interact with here not by their real names. The supervisor of the Behavioral Health Advocates will henceforth be called the following:

  • Yell Capitan

  • Sister Cignetti

  • Cig

The other staff member I mainly interact with will be called:

  • Young Ya Mean or YYM for short If you’re curious about the latter nickname, check out Lou Ratchett’s catalogue on YouTube.

This blog will speak a lot about YYM in particular, as she fascinates me the most, so much of us shaded within the other.

Yell Capitan and I talked at length about her and how she approaches life- her life has not been easy by any means, and the strength that it takes to deal with the shit she has to deal with daily and come to work and body this job is remarkable. I wanted her to teach me the ways of the Sith.

She started with telling me to fight the reaper and tell my story. It needs told. It doesn’t have to bring you millions as it probably won’t. But people deserve to know you and your story, she told me. And so here it is, in its full frontal naked glory on this blog from now on.

Tech is still here. Just not the focus. This feels freeing to me as well as I was stuck here twiddling my thumbs on what to write.
